I’m Stephen P. Smith, the proud owner of VIVA FITNESS Personal Training.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I’ve always been a sporty individual, so I decided to specialize in Physical Education and Health at college. Once I earned my degree, I went on to attain a master’s in Exercise Physiology.

Consequently, I became a high school PE teacher, and I found the role satisfying. However, after four years, I felt that I wanted to help others improve their health and fitness levels, so I became a group and personal trainer.

Since becoming a trainer over twenty-five years ago, I’ve noticed more instructors are springing up, which has made the space competitive. The industry has also changed immensely, and there are different dimensions to focus on when training.

Initially, exercise consisted of lifting barbells, aerobics, and weight loss. Clients now want to experience HIIT(High-Intensity Interval Training), CORE, Functional Movement, and proper nutrition guidance.

As a result, I render a professional service to my clients that I would expect if I hired a personal trainer, including a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment. I also focus on the “personal” aspect of personal training and not the one size fits all method.

Therefore, I work with integrity, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my honesty. I also attribute my success to being a peoples person, which gives me the ability to work with individuals from all walks of life.

Witnessing the joy on my clients’ faces after I help them achieve their goals fills me with immense satisfaction. It’s also rewarding to retain the same clients for many years and enhance their commitment to remaining fit and healthy.

I’m happy that my business has allowed me to create my schedule, so when I’m not training clients, I like to work on my physiology and run marathons. I also enjoy watching TV, and I’m into fashion. Besides, I support equal rights movements and LGBTQ issues.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
